Interior Design

INTERIOR DESIGN is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a space to achieve a functional and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the occupant. This is a basic introductory course that teaches how to plan, coordinate, manage and execute interior design projects by applying interior design skills and techniques.

These skills and techniques taught include the basics of Design principles and style, Scaled drawing, Spaces planning, Design process, Light, Colour, 3D design and Interior decorations.

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

1. Understand the fundamentals of interior design and its various components.
2. Apply design principles and techniques to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces.
3. Develop effective communication skills to convey design ideas and plans to clients and stakeholders.
4. Analyse and apply lighting and colour theory principles to enhance interior spaces.
5. Create 3D designs and visualisations to communicate design concepts.

6. Understand the business aspects of interior design, including project management, marketing, and professional practice.
